So in here now i manually opened the door.
New liftmaster garage door opener tripping breaker.
A few weeks ago the breaker that my garage door opener and motion light are connected to tripped.
It rained very hard last night and all yesterday the home inspector told her the ground for the garage was not optimal.
I replaced the breaker its a qo 20a thinking it was bad but it kept tripping.
This is a problem that will require you or a service person to replace it.

I d advise a temporary test using an extension cord plugged into a known different circuit to plug in the garage door opener in to for 2 or 3 days and see if the gfi breaker continues to trip after the opener has been removed from the circuit.
You could have a weak circuit breaker or a bad gcfi electrical outlet.
A short in the control board or the wiring of the garage door opener could also cause that problem.
I reset it and the breaker was fine for a few weeks.
If the circuit breaker or gfci is tripping repeatedly it s a sign that there is a short circuit somewhere in the system possibly even the garage door opener itself.
Only thing on the circuit is the opener and a flourcent light.
A bad drive motor could cause the circuit breaker to trip.
The breaker tripped again and wouldn t reset.
It worked fine the other day.
